That’s where strength training comes in, and it’s why our Personal Training for Teens program is designed with athletes in mind.
Think of it this way: a basketball player can shoot thousands of jump shots, but if they don’t have the strength in their legs to jump higher or the core stability to stay balanced, they’ll never reach their full potential. A soccer player can run drills all day, but without proper strength training, they won’t maximize speed or reduce their risk of injury. Athletes don’t just need practice—they need preparation.
At Breakaway Fitness & Performance, we don’t run “sport-specific gimmicks.” We focus on building the foundation every athlete needs—strength, power, conditioning, and movement quality. Those things carry over to every sport. When an athlete gets stronger, they sprint faster. When they move better, they cut and change direction more efficiently. When their body is balanced and conditioned, they stay on the field instead of sitting out hurt.
Our program also gives athletes something practice can’t: personalization. With just 10 kids per session, we’re able to create a program around each athlete’s needs. A baseball player who needs more rotational strength doesn’t train the same way as a volleyball player who needs explosive jumping. That’s the difference between practice and training. Practice builds skills. Training builds the athlete.
