I am a local guy. I was born in New Bern, NC and moved to Wilmington when I was 5 years old. The most important aspects of my life are God and my family. I have a beautiful wife Melody and we have 2 sons and a daughter. Aiden, Noah, and Bella. Outside of God and my family, I have devoted my life to learning about health, fitness, and the human body. Through this dedication to learning, I feel that I have obtained an education of the highest quality to serve you. I completed my undergraduate studies locally at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington where I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in Physical Education and Health with a Concentration in Exercise Science. Since graduating, I have continued my education through completion of my Master of Science degree in Kinesiology. I have also completed nationally accredited certifications as a Certified Exercise Physiologist, a Level 1 USA Weightlifting Coach, and I am a Master Instructor for Kettlebell Concepts. All education aside, I LOVE WHAT I DO! Being a part of this business has changed my and my family's lives. The BFP Family has become a part of our lives just as our own personal family and we hope that you will think about becoming a part of that family!
Hello there! I'm Coach Melody, and I'm thrilled to welcome you to my corner of the nutrition world. I'm not your typical nutrition coach—I bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the table, backed by certifications as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and Precision Nutrition Certified Coach (PN-1).
My passion for nutrition stems from my own personal journey of transformation. Over the years, I've witnessed firsthand the incredible impact that mindful eating and nourishing foods can have on our health and well-being. This journey has ignited a deep-seated passion within me to help others discover the same transformative power of nutrition.
As a mother, I know how vital it is to instill healthy eating habits from a young age. That's why I don't just preach about nutrition—I lead by example, teaching my own children the importance of wholesome foods and balanced meals.
When you do nutrition coaching with me, you're not just getting a guide—you're getting a partner in your journey to better health. I'll work with you every step of the way, providing personalized guidance tailored to your unique goals and lifestyle. I can't wait to guide you on this journey!
What's up everyone! My name is Silas and I am happily married to my best friend, Rosemary. We have two cats (Vader & Ludwig) and one dog (Tank) that keep us busy! A little bit about me, I grew up in a very small town in Northern Michigan (Harbor Springs). Trust me when I say small, graduating class of 80ish people. I then attended Alpena Community College where I had the opportunity to play basketball for a few years while earning my Associate’s degree. I then moved to the great state of North Carolina in 2007, where I located to Wilmington. I finished my undergrad at UNCW in 2012 where I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science. Upon graduation, I became certified through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). In 2014, I have gone through testing to become a Certified High School Strength & Conditioning Coach (HSSCC) as well as a Level 1 USA Weightlifting Coach. I am currently digging in with Precision Nutrition and hope to have that completed very soon. You can never stop learning! In regards to coaching, I have many years of experience with a wide range of clientele from kids, high school/collegiate athletes, to the young/older adult. I fully believe taking care of your health is the best way to show yourself "self-love" and stay on this earth a little longer.
In my spare time, I enjoy gardening, traveling and being active whether it is training for triathlons, surfing, hiking, or lacing up the Nike’s to play some basketball! I will leave you with a quote from my favorite band 311, "stay positive and love your life".
What's up BFP! Here's a little about me: I grew up in northern Illinois outside of Chicago. My family moved to Hampstead right before I started attending Topsail High School. I was the captain of the wrestling team and had a blast doing that sport all 4 years. I attended Appalachian State University and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science. I'm currently working on getting my CSCS certification. In my free time I love lifting, surfing, practicing martial arts, watching UFC, the beach, and hanging out with friends. I'm happy to have landed a job right out of college doing what I love in a fun and welcoming environment.
A little bit about myself: My husband and I got married shortly after highschool and have been moving around every few years... wherever the Marine Corps sends us! This is our second time landing in North Carolina and it's special to us because we got married here in Surf City and our oldest was born in Jacksonville. We have two elementary aged kiddos and we are on our 6th year of Homeschooling; I love the flexibility, and freedom that it provides in our lives. We love spending time outdoors and exploring.
About 12 years ago was when I really started thinking of my health, fitness and mindset holistically. I knew I needed to make some growth in my way of thinking and become more physically fit as I was about to enter motherhood. I started off with running, and eventually what I like to call the couch to 75k! I had started realizing that I was capable of much more than I ever gave myself credit for and loved giving myself goals to work towards. That eventually led to getting my Certified Personal Training cert, as I was educating myself on getting stronger and the science behind the training. I began leading small group classes for the running club I was a part of. (Thanks to their suggestion and support in that, it was life changing!) When we moved to California, I began doing group and personal training geared towards mothers in their pre and postnatal journeys. My certifications include Personal Training, Holistic Nutrition, Running Coach, and Heart Rate Performance Specialist.
My motto is to just keep moving! When the workout is tough, or when life is throwing challenges your way... you can slow down, just don't quit moving forward!
My husband and I relocated to Hampstead from New Jersey over 9 years ago. We have four young children and a dog. In my spare time, I enjoy training for marathons and Spartan races. My undergraduate degrees are in education and psychology and I spent eight years as a certified Les Mills BodyPump instructor. I recently completed my NASM certification in personal training. Most recently I earned my RRCA Level 1 Running Coach Certification! I have been a member of the BFP family for over five years. I love how motivating the coaches are and how much of a family atmosphere we’ve created at BFP. Everyone pushes each other to do their best and supports each win as if it were their own. I look forward to helping our members accomplish their personal wellness goals.
