JOSEPH ROUSE

Owner | Performance Coach | MS, ACSM EP

I am a local guy. I was born in New Bern, NC and moved to Wilmington when I was 5 years old. The most important aspects of my life are God and my family. I have a beautiful wife Melody and we have 2 sons and a daughter. Aiden, Noah, and Bella. Outside of God and my family, I have devoted my life to learning about health, fitness, and the human body. Through this dedication to learning, I feel that I have obtained an education of the highest quality to serve you. I completed my undergraduate studies locally at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington where I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in Physical Education and Health with a Concentration in Exercise Science. Since graduating, I have continued my education through completion of my Master of Science degree in Kinesiology. I have also completed nationally accredited certifications as a Certified Exercise Physiologist, a Level 1 USA Weightlifting Coach, and I am a Master Instructor for Kettlebell Concepts. All education aside, I LOVE WHAT I DO! Being a part of this business has changed my and my family's lives. The BFP Family has become a part of our lives just as our own personal family and we hope that you will think about becoming a part of that family!

MELODY ROUSE

Owner | BFP Nutrition Coach | LPN, PN-1

Hello there! I'm Coach Melody, and I'm thrilled to welcome you to my corner of the nutrition world. I'm not your typical nutrition coach—I bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the table, backed by certifications as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and Precision Nutrition Certified Coach (PN-1).

My passion for nutrition stems from my own personal journey of transformation. Over the years, I've witnessed firsthand the incredible impact that mindful eating and nourishing foods can have on our health and well-being. This journey has ignited a deep-seated passion within me to help others discover the same transformative power of nutrition.

As a mother, I know how vital it is to instill healthy eating habits from a young age. That's why I don't just preach about nutrition—I lead by example, teaching my own children the importance of wholesome foods and balanced meals.

When you do nutrition coaching with me, you're not just getting a guide—you're getting a partner in your journey to better health. I'll work with you every step of the way, providing personalized guidance tailored to your unique goals and lifestyle. I can't wait to guide you on this journey!

Silas Perreault

General Manager | NSCA-CSCS, USAW

What's up everyone! My name is Silas, and I'm happily married to my best friend, Rosemary. We have two cats, Vader and Ludwig, and a dog named Tank who definitely keep us on our toes!

A little about me: I grew up in the small town of Harbor Springs, Michigan. And when I say small, I mean a graduating class of about 80 people! After high school, I attended Alpena Community College, where I had the opportunity to play basketball while earning my Associate's degree.

In 2007, I made the move to the great state of North Carolina and settled in Wilmington. I completed my undergraduate studies at the University of North Carolina Wilmington in 2012, earning a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science. Following graduation, I became a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).

Since then, I've continued to expand my knowledge and credentials. In 2014, I earned my Certified High School Strength & Conditioning Coach (HSSCC) certification and became a Level 1 USA Weightlifting Coach. I firmly believe that learning never stops!

Over the years, I've had the privilege of coaching a wide variety of individuals, including youth athletes, high school and collegiate athletes, as well as adults of all ages and fitness levels. My passion is helping people become stronger, healthier, and more confident. I truly believe that taking care of your health is one of the greatest forms of self-respect and self-love, and it allows us to enjoy more years doing the things we love.

When I'm not coaching, you'll likely find me gardening, traveling, or staying active. Whether it's training for a triathlon, surfing, hiking, or lacing up my Nikes for a game of basketball, I enjoy just about anything that gets me moving.

I'll leave you with a quote from my favorite band - 311: "Stay positive and love your life."

Tyler Dempsey

Performance Coach | BS, NSCA-CSCS

What's up BFP! Here's a little about me: I grew up in northern Illinois outside of Chicago. My family moved to Hampstead right before I started attending Topsail High School. I was the captain of the wrestling team and had a blast doing that sport all 4 years. I attended Appalachian State University and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science. I'm currently working on getting my CSCS certification. In my free time I love lifting, surfing, practicing martial arts, watching UFC, the beach, and hanging out with friends. I'm happy to have landed a job right out of college doing what I love in a fun and welcoming environment.

STEPHANIE STRAWSER

Performance Coach | CPT

A little bit about myself: My husband and I got married shortly after highschool and have been moving around every few years... wherever the Marine Corps sends us! This is our second time landing in North Carolina and it's special to us because we got married here in Surf City and our oldest was born in Jacksonville. We have two elementary aged kiddos and we are on our 6th year of Homeschooling; I love the flexibility, and freedom that it provides in our lives. We love spending time outdoors and exploring.

About 12 years ago was when I really started thinking of my health, fitness and mindset holistically. I knew I needed to make some growth in my way of thinking and become more physically fit as I was about to enter motherhood. I started off with running, and eventually what I like to call the couch to 75k! I had started realizing that I was capable of much more than I ever gave myself credit for and loved giving myself goals to work towards. That eventually led to getting my Certified Personal Training cert, as I was educating myself on getting stronger and the science behind the training. I began leading small group classes for the running club I was a part of. (Thanks to their suggestion and support in that, it was life changing!) When we moved to California, I began doing group and personal training geared towards mothers in their pre and postnatal journeys. My certifications include Personal Training, Holistic Nutrition, Running Coach, and Heart Rate Performance Specialist.

My motto is to just keep moving! When the workout is tough, or when life is throwing challenges your way... you can slow down, just don't quit moving forward!

Stephanie White

Performance Coach | BA, NASM CPT, RRCA-Lvl 1, Spartan SGXBS

My husband and I relocated to Hampstead from New Jersey over 9 years ago. We have four young children and a dog. In my spare time, I enjoy training for marathons and Spartan races. My undergraduate degrees are in education and psychology and I spent eight years as a certified Les Mills BodyPump instructor. I recently completed my NASM certification in personal training. Most recently I earned my RRCA Level 1 Running Coach Certification! I have been a member of the BFP family for over five years. I love how motivating the coaches are and how much of a family atmosphere we’ve created at BFP. Everyone pushes each other to do their best and supports each win as if it were their own. I look forward to helping our members accomplish their personal wellness goals.

Jakson Cullen

Performance Coach | BA, ACE CPT, NASM CES

What’s up guys! I’m Coach Jakson and I am super excited to bring my passion for health and fitness to BFP!

I grew up in a small town in Harnett County, North Carolina, where I attended Cape Fear Christian Academy. During my time there I played a lot of basketball and just about every other sport you can think of, which eventually sparked my passion for strength training and fitness. I now attend the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, where I am pursuing my bachelor's degree in exercise science. Once I graduate, I hope to eventually go to either physical therapy or physician assistant school. Last year, I earned my ACE CPT certification and am currently working on my NASM CES.

In my free time, I enjoy lifting, cooking, basketball, and going to the beach. I am super excited to be coaching at BFP and am looking forward to helping members build confidence, improve strength and performance, and become the strongest version of themselves.
